Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the current Online Barcode Scan application processes in the browser, what may be handled by website infrastructure, and what information is provided voluntarily through contact.

1. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to visits to onlinebarcodescan.com and use of its barcode scanning, decoding, validation, generation, QR review, local-history, and batch-export tools. It does not govern an external website, email provider, telephone service, or messaging application opened after you leave the site or confirm an external action.

2. Images, camera frames, and decoded values

The current scanner components process selected images, camera frames, and decoded barcode values through browser-side code. The application does not provide an image-upload endpoint, does not place decoded values in page URLs, and does not maintain server-side scan history.

Camera access is controlled by the browser and operating system. A camera stream is requested only after user interaction with a camera tool. The site code does not intentionally record or upload the stream, but camera availability and permission behavior remain controlled by the browser, device, and operating system.

3. Browser-local storage

Scan history, batch rows, quantities, notes, and related tool state may be stored in your browser’s localStorage. This storage is associated with the site in that browser profile and is not synchronized to an account.

  • Local data can remain after a reload until you clear it or the browser removes it.
  • Private browsing, storage restrictions, browser cleanup, profile changes, or device changes can prevent persistence or remove stored data.
  • Use the relevant clear controls or browser site-data settings to remove local history and batch data.
  • Export any batch rows you need before clearing browser data.

4. Website requests and Cloudflare infrastructure

The site is deployed through Cloudflare infrastructure. Normal requests for HTML, scripts, styles, and local assets pass through that infrastructure. Cloudflare may process technical request and network information—such as an IP address, requested path, timestamps, browser or device signals, and security events—to deliver, protect, and operate the service.

The current application source does not intentionally send barcode images or decoded values as request parameters to Cloudflare or to a third-party analytics endpoint. Standard request logs can still show which site route and assets were requested.

5. Analytics, advertising, and cookies

At the last-updated date, the application source does not load a third-party analytics script or advertising script. The application does not intentionally set advertising or behavioral-tracking cookies.

Functional browser storage used for history and batch features is not an advertising profile. Cloudflare may use operational or security mechanisms, including cookies where required by an enabled security feature. Browser settings can be used to inspect or remove cookies and site data.

6. Confirmed external actions

The QR parser can prepare supported actions for HTTP, HTTPS, email, telephone, or SMS content. The site requires confirmation before executing those actions. After confirmation, the browser, email application, telephone application, messaging application, destination website, and their providers may process the information under their own terms and privacy practices.

7. Voluntary contact messages

When a public support address is available and you send an email, the message can include your email address, message content, headers, attachments, and delivery metadata. This information is used to read and respond to the message, investigate a reported problem, protect the mailbox, and retain necessary correspondence.

Do not send confidential barcode images, private decoded values, passwords, payment data, government identifiers, health information, or other sensitive material. Support messages are not an upload channel for barcode processing.

8. Retention and control

Browser-local tool data remains subject to your browser’s storage behavior. Technical request data and security records are handled according to the hosting provider’s operational settings and policies. Contact correspondence may be kept for as long as reasonably needed to address the message, maintain records, prevent abuse, or meet applicable obligations.

9. Policy changes

This policy may be updated when the tools, infrastructure, analytics, advertising, contact method, or legal requirements change. The last-updated date will be revised when material changes are published.
